Occultations are astronomical events which can only be observed from some tracks on the surface of the Earth each time. Moreover, its appearance changes a lot from one place to another. In this case, the occultation of Mars will be observable from the south-east of Asia, India, the Middle East, Europe - except the north of Russia, Scandinavia, the north of Great Britain and Iceland - and the north of Africa.

Images of the occultation as seen from Barcelona, obtained with the Celestia simulator.

Detailed observation will probably be complicated at the moment of reappearance, given the magnitude of Mars (1.3), as it takes place on the bright side of the Moon.

From Where and When Will It Be Observable?

Occultations are astronomical events which can only be observed from some tracks on the surface of the Earth each time. Moreover, its appearance changes a lot from one place to another. In this case, the occultation of Mars will be observable from the south-east of Asia, India, the Middle East, Europe - except the north of Russia, Scandinavia, the north of Great Britain and Iceland - and the north of Africa.
